Yes, we have heard of that a lot of times, inside or outside of church? Born to be that way or not? If born to be that way by God, how come people from church just so judgemental? Are you a friend of a gay or lesbian friend, or are you a parents of children with same sex tendency or into gay or lesbian relationship?
First of all, may I say that calling them as gay or lesbian - this is name calling. I use this common term here to address the issue only. Perhaps, they are people who are struggling with their real identity. Either they know God already or not. They get confused with their sexual identity in the world.
Let's go back to the very first chapter in the Bible which is Genesis. What does the Word of God say??
Genesis 1:27, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."
Isn't that plain enough for us to know God's design for humanity?? God created male and female. We read in Genesis 2:18,Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” We women are the men' helper according to God's design. God mentioned about marriage between a man and a woman in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
A man shall become one flesh with His wife (a female) so that they can have offspring.
We see God's design, His original plan for humanity. God created man and woman for a purpose! It is not by human's choice but by His loving design! As christians, we believe that God created the whole world, He is our Creator and Heavenly Father. He created us into His image as well. Therefore, as we read those Scriptures as His believers, we shall have no differing opinion about people who are struggling with their gender or identity. There's no such thing as 'born to be that way'. There's NO OTHER WAY, God explained His design so clearly, God created man and woman. Woman is the helper of man, they are to become one flesh under marriage. Amen. If you are still unclear, please re-read Genesis again and again until you really get it in your heart. Say 'no' to confusion in the world, trust in the Word of God and know that the Bible holds the ONLY TRUTH! Amen. Don't be misled by this world's philosophy! My brothers and sisters in Christ.
The ruler of the world is Satan - He is the father of all lies! We shall not believe in him at all. We need to say 'no' to his confusion and lies. We as humans, have the tendency to self-rule and self-dependency, we choose to do what we think is right, we choose to do what pleases us. However, if we are God's people, we need to learn how to submit our wills, our desires to the will of God. It is not us to decide what make us feel good, it is not us to decide what is right and what is wrong either.
We are the creature, we are not the creator!!! I say that again, we are the created, not the creator!! We do not control everything but God does!
If you believe in God, if you fear God and if you do respect God - know that God has your best interest in mind, He is not controlling freak. He loves you enough ...how so? God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to die for our sins! He created man and woman for a special purpose! Regardless of how you feel toward yourself, that doesn't change His original plan for all humanity. *Even if you feel like a lemon, that doesn't make you a lemon at all* Feeling is very deceptive!! Focus on the fact, believe in God's truth!! Only His truth will set us free, amen!!
Are you the parents? You feel so sorry to see your children turning into those lifestyle and you feel so hopeless??? Don't be discouraged! Our God is able and it is God's heart to bring healing and transform lives!
