Start writing In John 2:6, we are very familiar with the story, it's the first miracle Jesus performed and it helped greatly His disciples to understand who He is, and that they are able to put their trust in Jesus as well.
Water into Wine - how sweet, how good is that?
Let us examine the 'water', what sort of 'water' was it? It is 'water' used for ceremonial washing and do you know that according to the Law, the peoples need to wash themselves by the water before eating meals. And in previous chapters, Jesus is challenged by the Pharisees that He did not wash before eating. And Jesus rebuked them they cleaned the outside of the cup but ignored the most important thing - to clean the inside of their hearts, not just appearance.
It didn't say much about the water if it was already dirty or still very clean. Somehow, the 'water' can represent our filthy sins, and after Jesus performed that miracle, turned it into wine, the 'wine' can represent His Blood cleansing our sins, and make us clean again that other peoples might be able to taste the sweetness God has given us through our daily life witnesses.
I hope I am not in too much imagination about this, I was really assuming the water was a bit dirty, then Jesus made the water clean and not just become clean but it is drinkable as well.
And the servants were obedience enough to bring out the water to the master of the ceremonies. In verse 8, they followed Jesus' instructions.
Think about the 'water' and the 'wine' and let the Holy Spirit speaks to you about this in a personal way, Amen. here...
